What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching and therapy are both forms of support aimed at helping individuals improve their lives, but they differ in their approach, focus, and goals.

Therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a mental health treatment that addresses emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. The focus is typically on resolving past traumas or current difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, or relationship problems. The goal is to help individuals gain insight into their feelings and behavior, develop coping skills, and improve their overall well-being.

Coaching, on the other hand, is a goal-oriented process that helps you achieve specific goals. Coaches work with you to identify what’s getting in your way and work with you to overcome obstacles, create action plans, and develop skills and strategies for success.
